Day 1 - Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Fort Lauderdale is a canal-laced city known as the Venice of America, with miles of sandy beaches and a lively promenade of red-brick tiles running along its length. The swampy wetlands of the Everglades, the USA's largest tropical wetlands, sprawl nearby, home to alligators, crocodiles, black bears, panthers, and wading birds. Las Olas Boulevard is lined with upscale shops, restaurants, and art galleries.

The capital of Catalonia is a banquet for the senses, with its beguiling mix of ancient and modern architecture, tempting cafés and markets, and sun-drenched Mediterranean beaches.
