Galapagos Islands

Small Ship Cruises & Expeditions

Discover the natural diversity of the Galápagos Islands that offer wildlife you won't see anywhere else

No matter how many David Attenborough specials you've watched, nothing can prepare you for the thrill of the Galápagos Islands. The diverse wildlife, from blue-footed boobies to giant tortoises, will captivate you. Your small ship acts as a floating safari camp, immersing you in this panoramic island experience.

Common Questions:

Best Time to Visit
Any time is great for the Galápagos. The weather is mild with little rain and no tropical storms. What matters most is how long you stay, to ensure you see the diversity of wildlife across different islands.

How Long to Stay
Each island has unique ecosystems and species. More islands visited means more wildlife seen. For example, red-footed boobies are found on Genovesa or San Cristóbal, while flightless cormorants are on Fernandina or Isabela.

Daily Schedule
There's no typical day; flexibility allows for unexpected wildlife encounters. Some landings may last two hours, others four.

Trails
Trail conditions vary from soft sandy beaches to challenging rocky paths. Most trails are under 2.5 kilometres, walked at a leisurely pace.

Recommendations
Consider adding an Amazon River trip. Its proximity and vast wildlife make it a rewarding addition to your Galápagos adventure. For Amazon River cruising options, click here.
