HIGHLIGHTS
Most week-long voyages visit either the western islands or the eastern islands. You can combine these trips into a longer, two-week trip to see all the islands.
Wildlife
Sea lions, marine iguanas, land iguanas, turtles, tortoises, fur seals are just some of the wildlife you will see from one island to the next; however, there are unique eco-systems and wildlife on each of the islands. For example the Flightless Cormorant is only found on Fernandina and Isabela Islands; the Waved Albatross on Española Island and the Red-footed
Booby is generally found on Tower Island. If you have a particular area of interest, let us know and we can match you to the itinerary that would suit best.

Geology
The Galápagos are a geological marvel, showcasing a diverse array of volcanic formations and landscapes including volcanic cones, craters, and extensive lava tunnels on islands like Santiago. The eastern islands, like Española and San Cristóbal, display more eroded volcanic landscapes sculpted by natural forces.

Water-based Activities
Snorkelling and kayaking is offered by most vessels. Diving is only available via specialised dive boats.

Price Guide: US$1200 to $15K. Luxury small ship coastal expedition.

Duration: A 7-10 day voyage is best, however it is possible to do a shorter, 3-night cruise
(although not recommended) and for clients wanting to cover all of the islands, there are 15-day voyages available. 

When to Travel:  All year round. The warm season runs Dec– May and cool season: Jun – Nov and average daytime temperatures range from 27-32°C and 21-27°C respectively.

When to Book:  There are regular weekly departures. It's recommended to book around 6 months in advance as dates book out quickly! 

Handy Information: 

• Quito is a great base for further exploration and the travel time from airport to the city: 1-2hrs 


• Guayaquil airport to city: 20mins. This coastal city enjoys a tropical climate, so is good for a stop over

Pre-/Post- Cruise Options:

• Fly into Quito or Guayaquil. Generally travellers need to arrive the day before cruise departure and have accommodation for the night of disembarkation. Some operators will include a night at a hotel either side of their trip in Quito or Guayaquil.Wild Earth Travel can book hotels, plus any additional activities.


• Stay in a local hacienda (estate) or eco lodge of which some offer tours.


• Private driver and guide for days trips to Otavalo market and/or Mt Cotopaxi.
