This Mediterranean voyage begins in elegant Nice and weaves through the glittering Riviera and the wild beauty of Corsica before concluding in Italy. Experience the princely glamour of Monaco, the pastel charm of Portofino, and the authentic character of L'Île-Rousse. Corsica reveals its many faces — from the golden sands of Porticcio Beach and Napoleonic heritage in Ajaccio to the soaring limestone citadel of Bonifacio — before sailing onward to historic Portoferraio and finishing in Civitavecchia, gateway to Rome.

Highlights

• Riviera glamour in Nice and Monaco, where princely elegance meets Mediterranean sophistication.

• Corsica’s diverse landscapes, from lively L’Île-Rousse and Porticcio’s beaches to Bonifacio’s dramatic white cliffs.

• Italian heritage and history, from Portofino’s chic harbour to Elba’s Napoleonic legacy and the gateway to Rome.

Nice seduces with its enchanting mix of Mediterranean glamour and sun-drenched beaches. Stroll along the famous Promenade des Anglais, explore the historic charm of Vieux Nice with its colourful alleyways and bustling markets, and savour delicious cuisine. With its mild year-round climate, Nice offers the perfect escape where French elegance meets natural beauty.

Monaco is the fabled domain of princes and movie stars. The magnificent Palais du Prince and opulent casinos remind you of an elegant, pre-war era. With more wealth concentrated in one small area than almost any place on earth, this tiny principality retains its gilt edged allure.

Portofino is a fishing village on the Italian Riveria coastline. It's pastel-coloured houses, luxury boutiques and seafood restaurants surround its Piazzetta, a small cobbled square overlooking the harbor, which is lined with super-yachts. A short walk takes you up to the Church of St. George, a church with a cool, plain interior, dramatically situated on the narrow neck of the Portofino headland. As a lookout point, and probably as a site of religious significance, the spot goes back thousands of years.

Ile Rousse (red island) is a little town in Balagne region (northwest of Corsica), some 25 km from Calvi. It is popular with visitors but still retains its local character. Place Paoli at the centre of town is a shady square bordered by tall plane trees and outdoor cafes. It is a lively spot and a great favourite with locals who gather there to play pétanque (French bowls). The old town with its traditional grid street system is also very worth a visit.

Porticcio, on the southern shore of the Gulf of Ajaccio, is a charming seaside resort renowned for its fine sandy beaches and turquoise waters. Combining natural beauty with modern facilities, it offers water sports, lively walks and tasty local specialities.

Ajaccio, the capital of Corsica, is situated on the west coast of the island and is a bustling port city with a relaxed atmosphere. Known for its charming cobbled streets, relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere and rich cultural heritage as the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte. Ajaccio offers a unique experience combining history, nature and gastronomy.

Bonifacio, a magnificent town in the far south of Corsica, is renowned for its spectacular medieval architecture, impressive limestone cliffs and picturesque harbour. Nestling atop steep cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Bonifacio offers breathtaking views of the crystal-clear waters and neighbouring islands.

From his villa in Portoferraio, Napoleon, the exiled Emperor of France, looked out over the waiting ships in the harbour and dreamed of returning to glory. Enjoy a local vineyard tour, and near Portoferraio, discover the remains of an ancient Etruscan civilisation.

Civitavecchia is an important seaport serving Rome, the Italian capital. As a key entry point for Mediterranean cruises and ferries crossing the Tyrrhenian Sea, Civitavecchia offers a gateway to a variety of destinations in Italy and beyond. The city is 70 km from Rome and 62 km to Fiumiccino airport.
