A relaxed week on a gulet visiting some of the lesser known southern Dodecanese Islands such as Tilos, Alimia and Chalki.
We will stop for a swim on most days in small bays, and have the opportunuity to snorkel over a WWII wreck. We mix our nights between small harbours with waterfront tavernas, and some more remote bays.
We hope to eat under the stars and spend plenty of time ashore exploring some of the villages as well as the abandoned village of Mikro Chorio to watch the sunset.
Highlights
Picture postcard Symi Harbour Eating ashore in Greek Tavernas Swimming in secluded bays Visiting small, untouristy islands.
Depart Rhodes and sail northwest to Symi. We will stop for a swim in a quiet cove and then we will spend our first night in Panormitis Bay, a peaceful anchorage.
We will have time to visit the impressive Monastery of Archangel Michael before enjoying a quiet dinner onboard and enjoying a peaceful first night - A great introduction to island sailing.
We will have a short scenic sail to the postcard-perfect Symi Harbour. We plan to have a swim stop at St. George’s Bay (weather permitting) before reaching Symi and mooring stern-to along the colourful neoclassical waterfront. There will be plenty of time to explore the town’s steps and panoramic viewpoints. Enkoy a fresh seafood dinner on the harbour front.
A longer sailing day south to quiet Tilos, one of the smaller inhabited Greek Islands. We hope to have time for swim stop en route before we dock in Livadia Harbour. We will walk to the abandoned village of Mikro Chorio at sunset.
We will sail to tiny, charming Chalki with a swim in Kania or Pondamos Beach, known for its clear turquoise waters. We will anchor or moor in Nimborio Harbour and have a dinner at a waterfront taverna.
Chalki is one of the prettiest small harbors in the Dodecanese.
Sail to uninhabited Alimia Island where we will anchor in stunning Agios Georgios Bay. We will have the opportunity to snorkel around WWII wreckage remains. This is a remote bay - a completely wild setting with no shops or tavernas.
We sail north with a swim stop at Anthony Quinn Bay or Kallithea Springs. In the afternoon we return to Rhodes Marina or Mandraki Harbour leaving time to explore Rhodes Old Town (UNESCO site) before a farewell dinner
