Heritage Adventurer Famil Report

28 March, 2024

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of being one of the fortunate few to embark on the Heritage Adventurer for part of its Best of New Zealand voyage from Christchurch to Wellington. I was thoroughly impressed by everything on board, from the spacious cabins and friendly crew to the incredible range of activities available. I highly recommend this ship to anyone seeking a more intimate cruise experience combined with adventure and fun. 😊

What kind of activities were available?

There was a wealth of options, catering to both adventurous hikers and passengers with mobility challenges. Onboard, a variety of talks were available, covering topics such as maximising your phone's camera for capturing the best moments of your adventures and providing insights into the unique sights at each stop.

Tell us about the expedition guides on board:

Onboard we had an amazing expedition team – among them were historians, geologists, botanists and more! They were all there to answer any questions that the passengers had. After each stop, they gave a briefing on what we saw and experienced that day as well as what we have available for the next day.

What were your personal highlights?

On the Abel Tasman excursion we saw some seals lying on the rocks trying to get some sun and at one of the beaches we had a couple of stingrays swimming around the boat. I really loved the Abel Tasman excursion. The rock formations and the crystal-clear water was just too beautiful.
