Begin your adventure by being taken to the foothills of Adelaide and into Penfolds’ Magill Estate. Not only will you discover the fine drops and rich history of this iconic Australian wine label, you’ll also be taken to The Farm, to encounter some of Australia’s most famous wildlife. Then it’s time to welcome you aboard the mighty True North. Enjoy a welcome cocktail while we introduce you to your cabin and indulge in more culinary delight as we begin an exciting cruise to Victor Harbour.

Today we explore Kangaroo Island’s stunning north coast where farmlands roll onto sandy coves. We’ll visit Emu Bay, Stokes Bay, Cape Dutton and Cape Forbes. Your day will be filled with snorkelling, beachcombing, close encounters with seals and dolphins, and fishing for ‘monster’ whiting.

Discover the unspoiled beauty of Kangaroo Island, a haven of pristine beaches, rugged cliffs, and diverse wildlife. We’ll embark on a scenic journey to Flinders Chase National Park, marvelling at the otherworldly Remarkable Rocks and the dramatic Admirals Arch where deeper sea pods congregate. Ornithology buffs can join an exploration of the north coast islands’ namesake marsupials, as well as koalas, echidnas, and sea lions. Later, we’ll cruise to the charming fishing village of American River for a tranquil bird-watching and a spot of fishing. As the day winds down, enjoy a deck and reflect on the island’s natural wonders.

Today is the day you’ll be able to experience a once-in-a-lifetime adventure diving with Great White Sharks. Join our experienced local operator to see these mighty creatures up close and in their natural environments.

This morning, we’ll explore Port Lincoln and discover the fascinating Southern Bluefin Tuna industry, savouring the prized fish, fresh from the ocean. Afterwards, stretch your legs on scenic trails through Lincoln National Park, immersing yourself in the coastal beauty. In the afternoon we’ll join the crew at historic Memory Cove for beach drinks and hors d’oeuvres, toasting an extraordinary day in South Australia.

Wake up in stunning Coffin Bay, renowned for its tranquil, beach-fringed bays nestled within national parkland. Start your day at Farm Beach, where you can fish or stroll along its pristine shoreline. In the afternoon, savour local seafood, wines, and beers from Yarnbala, accompanied by live music. For a grand finale, take an optional scenic helicopter flight over Coffin Bay and the Great Australian Bight, marvelling at ancient cliffs, turquoise waters, and endless white beaches from above.

At Flinders Island, we’ll be welcomed by a local family with deep roots in the abalone industry. They’ll share their fascinating diving history and insights into this prized delicacy. After an enlightening presentation aboard True North, our hosts will treat us to a culinary highlight – freshly caught abalone, prepared and cooked before our eyes. This unique encounter offers a true taste of the island’s maritime heritage and local expertise.

The picturesque township of Streaky Bay is located on the western coast of the Eyre Peninsula. In the morning we’ll visit the National Trust Museum where we’ll discover the fascinating history of pioneering families and the sailing exploration of the area. Alternatively jump in an adventure boat and set off in search of the revered blue manna crab. In the afternoon we’ll visit the sheltered bays of the Franklin Islands, home to countless shearwaters that nest in shallow burrows. Here we’ll spend the afternoon exploring, fishing, snorkelling and diving before enjoying your last night on-board the magnificent True North.

Our adventure concludes in Smokey Bay where we’ll disembark and transfer to Ceduna for a charter flight back to Adelaide. As you soar over the stunning South Australian landscape, reflect on the unique experiences and memories you’ve gathered along this remarkable coastline.

Length: True North - 50 metres/True North II - 35 meters

Passenger Capacity: 36/22

Built/Refurbished: 2005/2023

True North is built for access to remote environments, operating in shallow coastal waters and river systems where conventional expedition ships cannot enter. Daily operations revolve around direct engagement: multiple adventure boats, an onboard helicopter, and a strict avoidance of long sea days ensure that time is spent actively exploring rather than transiting. Interiors mirror high-end lodge standards with panoramic lounges, an alfresco bar, refined dining, and cabins equipped for comfort and immediacy to the landscape. Crew involvement is constant and hands-on, creating an experience defined by flexibility, varied activities and immersion in wilderness rather than passive sightseeing.

True North II delivers the same expedition model in a more intimate format, carrying just 22 guests and maintaining the purpose-built shallow navigation that allows direct access to rivers, coastlines and isolated anchorages. Its layout consolidates social spaces into a combined saloon and lounge, supported by a dining room designed for a refined, communal atmosphere. Cabins retain private facilities and in-house entertainment, while a full suite of adventure boats and regular helicopter operations mirror the capabilities of the larger vessel. The smaller scale enhances personal attention and reinforces the brand’s defining approach: constant activity, close crew interaction and immediate entry into remote environments.
