Roundtrip from Piraeus, gateway to Athens and the landmark Acropolis of Athens, this Aegean voyage links the Dodecanese and eastern Mediterranean with classical antiquity and island tradition. Call at Karpathos for authentic harbour life, explore the medieval splendour of Rhodes, sail through the Samos Strait, and visit Kusadasi with access to the ruins of Ephesus. Continue to the spiritual island of Patmos and the relaxed landscapes of Andros before returning to Piraeus, combining ancient sites, fortified towns and unspoilt island scenery.

Highlights

• The medieval Old Town of Rhodes and the Palace of the Grand Masters.

• Optional exploration of Ephesus from Kusadasi, including the Library of Celsus and Great Theatre.

• Patmos and the Monastery of the Apocalypse, a significant pilgrimage site in the Aegean.

Walking in the shadow of the Acropolis in the Agora, you can almost hear the voices of Plato, Socrates and Aristotle arguing about who was the greatest philosopher. Ancient Athens, the birthplace of democracy and epicenter of western civilization, is a city for all eternity. Piraeus is the port of Athens, just 15km from the city and 45km from the airport.

Each Star Clippers ship offers a traditional and elegant way to see the world. Feel the wind fill the sails and gently carry you from one gorgeous destination to the next. During your time on board, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or cool off in one of the pools on the top deck, while more adventurous passengers may enjoy the opportunity to climb the rigging or even have a go at steering the ship. Alternatively, you can wander the interior areas of the ship and discover relaxing lounges, a revitalising spa (Royal Clipper only) and a peaceful library.

Framed by rugged mountains and sparkling seas, the town of Karpathos - once known as Pigadia - welcomes passengers with authentic Dodecanese charm. The harbour is lined with colourful fishing boats, waterfront cafés, and tavernas where the scent of grilled seafood fills the air. Passengers can stroll through the narrow streets of the old quarter, discover local crafts, or simply enjoy the tranquil rhythm of island life. Nearby beaches shimmer with clear blue water, perfect for a refreshing swim. In Karpathos, simplicity is part of the charm, everything feels close, easy, and warmly familiar from the moment you arrive.

Rhodes, the jewel of the Aegean Sea, is famous for its medieval old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, idyllic beaches and sunny climate. Explore its cobbled streets, admire the Palace of the Grand Masters, relax on golden beaches and savour exquisite Mediterranean cuisine. For a change of scenery, head to Lindos, where the Acropolis dominates the emerald sea, contrasted by the white facades of the town's buildings. Rhodes is the perfect destination for lovers of history, culture and seaside relaxation.

Kusadasi is a lively seaside resort, and above all the main access point to the famous archaeological site of Ephesus. Extensive excavations have revealed an Ionian city through which visitors can wander. Among the best-preserved ruins are the Theatre, Hadrian's Gate, the Library of Celsus, the Street of the Curetes, Trajan's Fountain and the Odeon, giving visitors the chance to immerse themselves in this bygone civilisation.

This serene island is known as the site of the apocalyptic revelations of St. John the Divine, The cave where he is said to have lived is now the site of the Monastery of the Apocalypse. It houses priceless icons and manuscripts in its treasury.

The small port of Gavrio welcomes you to the island of Andros with its calm way of life. This small harbour is surrounded by gentle hills and the scent of the sea. Although Gavrio itself has little more than a few cafés and seaside tavernas, it is the perfect place to explore the natural beauty and tranquil soul of Andros. Beyond the port, excursions lead to landscapes of stone villages, green valleys and long, windswept beaches. The island's main town, also called Andros, lies on the opposite side of the island, an hour's drive from the port, and is a graceful settlement of neoclassical houses, leafy squares, and art galleries.
