During this exciting circumnavigation of Spitsbergen, we explore the glacier-coated fjords and beautiful bays, which the area is known for. Join our journey of exploration around this magnificent archipelago in the company of seabirds, walrus, seals and polar bears.

The goal on this expedition is to explore Spitsbergen’s nature, fauna, cultural heritage and to visit where few people have set foot. We travel through a magnificent archipelago and hope to make a full circumnavigation of Spitsbergen. We visit bird cliffs and walrus beaches, hike on the tundra and cruise along glacier fronts. Our little expedition ship is ice-classed and we carefully break through the ice, which is often present in eastern Spitsbergen. In the pack ice we have good chances of seeing the lord of the Arctic – the polar bear. We also hope to see seals and it is not unusual to see whales along the ice edge.

We travel in the footsteps of polar explorers such as Andrée, Nordenskiöld, Amunsden and Nobile, while everyday making landfall in spectacular settings. Scientists, whalers, trappers and miners have travelled to Spitsbergen for the past 400 years and have left behind traces of their endeavors from buildings to place names. We travel carefully through Spitsbergen’s sensitive environment and have minimal impact.
