Galapagos
Long-famous for its place in Charles Darwin’s seminal work, the Galapagos Islands continue to surpass all expectations, leaving visitors with feelings of having stepped onto another planet, or rather, into another time. The astonishing scenery of volcanic craters and cones echoes the age of dinosaurs, underlining the uniqueness of these “enchanted islands”. You will have the opportunity for unbelievably close encounters with the largely predator-free animals and birds which inhabit the Galapagos. Imperious iguanas regard passers-by from the top of ash cones & crater rims, while exotic birds return the curious gaze of photographers who can’t believe their luck!
Our expeditions are the most comprehensive and rewarding available to the Galapagos Islands, so are ideal for anyone who is really interested in discovering in full what this unique destination has to offer.
We spend more time on more islands than other tours. Some species of animals & birds can only be found on the islands that we take you to – which other tours would miss.
Our groups take a maximum of 15 people, offering a more intimate experience and ideal conditions for wildlife viewing.
Visits to the islands are longer than other tours and we generally start earlier in the day for the best photographic opportunities.
Our tours are accompanied by an expert tour leader/biologist with a thorough knowledge of the natural history of the islands. You will also be accompanied by a Galapagos Islands National Park guide who will advise on the local conservation initiatives.
There will be daily lectures on varied topics such as land and sea birds, geology, evolution and Darwin.
Your cruise will be on board a modern vessel, providing both comfortable accommodation and speedy transit between islands. Normally cruising takes place during rest periods, ensuring maximum time on land. The vessel is also Galapagos owned & operated, so the local economy benefits.
