Polar Star

The Icebreaker MV Polar Star was built in Finland and served in the Swedish Maritime Administration’s fleet of icebreakers under the name of Njord. Today the ship is one of the safest and most comfortable ice class vessels operating in the Antarctic. The ship is certified for worldwide international voyages, complying with the latest SOLAS and IMF regulations for safety and the environmental protection. Capable of carrying just 100 passengers on expedition cruises, it is the fleet of 10 expedition zodiacs used for shore excursions combined with the vessels icebreaking capabilities that make this the complete expedition package.
