Redwood Lodge
Superbly located in a tranquil New Zealand rural setting, Redwood Lodge is ideally situated in close proximity to the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves and the many other caving and outdoor adventure activities that are available here in the heart of the King Country.
Close by is the town of Otorohanga, the ‘Kiwiana’ Capital of New Zealand and home of “The Kiwi House” where rare native species of birds and reptile can be seen. Just south is Te Kuiti, the sheep shearing capital.
Redwood Lodge sits amid 12 acres of peaceful park-like grounds that include an acre of redwood forest.
Redwood Lodge consists of four well-appointed, quality double bedrooms (king and queen beds) all with ensuite facilities, air-conditioning and heating, complementary tea & coffee, hair dryer and ranch slider access to gardens. Children are welcome; three of the rooms have sleeping facilities for a third person.
For your entertainment there is a spa pool, a games room, Sky TV and a large video library.
A tour of the neighbouring dairy farm can be arranged where guests will be encouraged to join in with the activities such as calf-feeding.
Full cooked breakfasts are normally included. Dinner is available, (3 course), as are packed lunches.
The Lodge’s owners, John and Georgina, are UK ex-pats. They have travelled extensively and therefore understand the need for those home-from-home comforts that make a holiday memorable. They look forward to welcoming you into their home. They are keen naturalists / bird watchers and are familiar with the local natural / bird watching areas together with the likelihood of seeing the more common and rarer target species. They are also happy to share their experience with those who have similar interests.
Guests are welcome to wander and enjoy the grounds where you will be able to meet some of the resident animals. For the comfort of all our guests, Redwood Lodge operates a “No Smoking” policy in all accommodation.
